Repair a customer journey
Forms that fail, checkout problems, mobile defects and other issues that affect enquiries or sales.
If an important website change keeps being deferred, I can take it on. I handle React, Next.js and WordPress fixes, features and integrations as defined pieces of work, working directly with you from the first conversation through to release.
The sort of work I take on
The best fit is usually one technical issue or feature with a clear effect on customers, operations or the development team.
Forms that fail, checkout problems, mobile defects and other issues that affect enquiries or sales.
Connect another service, add a CMS block, improve an account area or automate a repetitive process.
Address slow templates, heavy scripts, Core Web Vitals and technical SEO issues without rebuilding the whole site.
Complete a React component, resolve a deployment issue, review a higher-risk change or provide experienced implementation support.
Selected projects
Public examples of the focused, commercially important work I take on: building customer-facing websites, improving key journeys and connecting the wider systems behind them.
Professional membership body
ABM
Association of Business Mentors
Website, commerce and platform integration
I rebuilt the Association of Business Mentors website and connected WooCommerce with its CRM and learning management system. This enables ABM to sell courses through the website while keeping its customer, sales and learning platforms connected.
“Chris is friendly, efficient and always delivers exactly what we need, on time and on budget.”
Educational workshops for primary schools
Puzzle Locker
Puzzle Locker
Topic pages, design and functionality
I created dedicated pages for Puzzle Locker and improved the design and functionality across the website. The work gave each workshop topic a clearer place within the site and made the overall experience more consistent for schools exploring the service.
“Chris has done a fantastic job with our new website. It looks great, and we regularly receive compliments from schools on how easy it is to navigate. He’s always available on WhatsApp if we need anything and is incredibly quick to resolve any issues that arise. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his services.”
How it works
A clear process keeps the work controlled without adding unnecessary meetings or documentation.
Send the site, explain the current behaviour and describe the result you need.
I review the current setup and provide an estimate, including what is included and excluded.
I build the change, test the agreed paths and provide the result for review.
Once the change is approved, I help release it and leave you with the code and useful technical notes.
A good focused project
Probably needs wider scoping
Before you decide
A few practical details before you get in touch.
Probably not. Hello Street is designed for work that needs experienced development but does not require a large project team. Send me the requirement and I will give you an honest view of the likely size.
No. It indicates the scale of project I usually take on, rather than a fixed package or hard limit. Some requirements are smaller and others need more time. Once I've reviewed the site and its dependencies, I'll propose an appropriate scope.
I stop at the agreed boundary, explain what I have found and outline the options. I do not add work or cost without your approval.
Yes. I use version control and a staging environment where the setup allows it, and confirm a rollback route before anything goes live. If the current setup makes a safe release difficult, I'll explain the risk before I start.
I do. I agree the work with you, write the code and handle the technical communication. I work in your repository and accounts wherever practical, and there is no compulsory retainer.
Have a project in mind?
Send me the current site, describe the existing behaviour and explain the outcome you need. I'll reply within one working day.
